I'd rather he were buried in Westminster Abbey.

So he expressed a wish to be buried in York, his descendants want him to be buried in York, but Leicester are playing finders keepers.
My mistake......I did actually mean York.
Is possession really 9 points of the law, then?
What's wrong with Leicester? Tesco car park would be ideal.
He was known as Richard of York I believe. Not Richard of Leicester.
If the Yorkies wanted his bones, why didn’t they spend their time and money trying to find them?

Interesting point by Barmaid.

Whilst he obviously deserves a burial befitting a monarch of that era, would it be possible to have him placed in a casket and spend 4 months a year at each of 3 locations (York, Leicester and Westminster Abbey), allowing all concerned to benefit from the increased tourism revenue?

Just a thought......
I don't think York's tourism would increase if he was buried there, Leicester's certainly would. I mean why else would anyone go to Leicester?
Have you been there Craft ?
LOL @ Craft.
No Octavius, I've never felt the need..........

I've been to Leicester once...................

Once.
I went there twice a week for four years. Consequently, I am in complete agreement with Craft.
Aww come on I think your being very unfair, they have the National Space Centre (cos' we're such a space faring nation aren't we) AND Taylor's Bell Foundry listed as some of their main attractions. There's also Bosworth Field, but lets not (metaphorically) go there.
And soon they'll have the Richard III monument and visitor centre!
Let's hope it's worth the 5M it's spending on it eh..
If they are going to be buried anywhere it should be Westminster CATHEDRAL - he was a catholic - his wife was a catholic
Whilst I'm ranting Mary Queen of Scots should be moved too - she would hate to be buried in a non-catholic grave
Many more I can think of too
Should his final resting place be Leicester, I might go for a visit.
Should it be York I might pop along...........
Me too. Unless it costs anything.
