Well our PM has spoken and told us all to "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON".

He also said that "the terror attack will not divide us but bring us together and make us stronger",

Do you think this utopian dream of 'togetherness' will really work, because we were not very together before?

/// Mr Cameron revealed that the two suspected killers were known to the security services and promised that the authorities will investigate into whether the attack could have been prevented ///

Bit late in the day to save that poor lad's life I think, perhaps those two savages should have been 'netted' sooner?

hindsight is a wonderful thing
Perhaps the security services should round up all those they consider to be potential terriosts and incarcerate them in a guantanamo bay type facility
It may never work, because not everyone wants to be together, but we ought to try even so. Division is damaging. Yesterday, it cost someone his life in horrific circumstances. If we react by becoming ever more divisive, that will in the end lead to yet more deaths, yet more violence and misery. The reactions of those who brand a whole community, or a whole society, are different and to be feared because of the actions of a few are understandable but completely the wrong approach. It solves nothing. Just more divisions. Yes, we should try to unite.

So how about we start here, and not argue amongst ourselves?

In answer to the second point. We don't yet know exactly what was known to the Security Services about these people. It may have been very little, in which case there was nothing more that could have been done -- you cannot arrest people and lock them up on essentially no evidence. It may have been a lot, in which case why was nothing more done? Hindsight is a blessing and a curse -- now we know that the two men probably should have been arrested beforehand, but we didn't know that yesterday morning. I just hope that our Security Services didn't miss a genuine chance to do something about it.

Oh well said jim I vote you for best answer.
perhaps you should say the same thing about Asian, Somali, or Chinese communities, that rarely seem to mix, not in a significant way. Integration is fine if it works from all peoples.

Which community are we talking about ?
Not sure what other message Cameron could have delivered.

We need a few more answers now about who these people were and how this happened before we can start saying which peoples should be locked up just in case.

///attack will not divide us but bring us together and make us stronger///

Since when has "Call me Dave" been one of us?
in response to Jim's rather utopian idea of life in Britain. or one that should be possible, but is unlikely in the long term.
Your post says that //perhaps you should say the same thing about Asian, Somali, or Chinese communities, ..//

' .. should say the same thing about .. ' infers that he was talking about a particular community
Cameron wouldnt know 'togetherness' if it jumped up and bit him!
that many communities do not mix, not just the so called white British.
have you any thoughts as to why the so called white british dont mix or want to mix with other communities ?
i think you will find that many do, however some areas in the capital are like ghetto's, so maybe it's more the other way around.
Strange thing, the two murderers were known by MI 5, as were the 2 bombers who killed innocent people at the Boston marathon. Should the security services be allowed to do more than 'observe' potential Terrorists and 'netted' sooner? Or would this just lead to more trouble?
Why , do you feel that if you ventured into those 'like ghetto's' areas , you wouldn't come out alive ?
where did i say that ?
this is about integration, not about crime.
