You posited:

chances are there to be taken, why take the worse option.

I would argue that he didn't take the worst option. The worst option would have to become a serial killer, or a multiple rapist, or...or...Jimmy Saville.

The simple and complex answer is that our influences are myriad. Two children from the same family may grow up completely differently. One might spend her life working HR for a retail bank in Colchester, whilst the other might become a heroin-addled prostitute, working in Amsterdam.

They may have exactly the same education and opportunities, but it's what they do with those opportunities that determines their lives.

Asking 'Why' is pretty futile.

'Why' is a product of 'how'.
He'll stay. Otherwise his right to enjoy a family life, enshrined in various bits of Human Rights legislation, would be violated.
which is what i said, he had opportunities he would have been denied in his homeland, why take a bad option, wish some would see that.

And I would also argue that a person that earns their living, obtaining and distributing drugs to unfortunates that are hooked on this stuff, is equal to a serial killer etc, taking into account the hundreds (if not thousands) of lives such low-life as him take or ruin.

And wasn't it you who referred to a "heroin-addled prostitute, working in Amsterdam"?

They don't all work in Amsterdam, but it is certainly this drug traffickers, product that has brought these unfortunate women down to this level in life.
Why is it, whenever a news article is posted on here that shows any minority group or individual in a bad light, there are always the usual suspects jumping up and down spouting how it's all the Daily mail's fault because they reported it or other favourites are' have you any proof?' or 'it's not just them' or any number of reasons to excuse their criminality. Even when it's staring them in the face they will never ever put the blame on them, they always have an excuse.
