When I saw the title of your post I thought that it referred to George Osborne skipping the country before the authorities caught up with him ;-)

Anyway, he's better than me at skipping. That, and forward rolls, were two things I never managed to master during my childhood.
He never thinks it out before doing it - does he?

Wonder why they gave him a rope . . .
What a pity that we can not skip him and the other load of merchant bankers, from that lunatic asylum called Eton, that are trying to rip us off.
I couldn't skip

Chris - I could do headstands but not handstands, my forward roll rolled to the side - a side-roll in a generally forward direction.
It was meant to say -

I couldn't skip 45 years ago so there is no chance that I could manage to skip now.
I'd rather have a sausage roll

It seems that I wasn't the only one who didn't look forward to PE lessons!

We used to have wall-bars, and a game where you had to bounce a ball off the wall in the space between the top bars. If your ball fell down the back, you had to squeeze down the back of the bars to fetch it. I hated that.
We had to climb up the wall bars then sit on the windowsills which I swear were at most six inches deep.
How no one ever fell down I do not know....didn't help that I wasn't too keen on heights. (Still not keen).
I know we complain about elf and safety gone mad now, but that was a bit much.
I still shudder when I think about PE lessons.
And the navy blue knickers didn't help.
