One Tv Aerial, Two Different Tv Regions!

We live in Derbyshire. When we moved in we got aerial blokeys round to sort it all out as we live in a poor reception area. Since 1 or 2 re-tunes (new freeview stations etc) we have the most bizarre situation with local BBC news! In the lounge (downstairs) we get Midlands Today, (the Birmingham one) - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midlands_Today
However upstairs in the bedroom we get "our" East Midlands Today - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Midlands_Today
Let me re-iterate, One House, ONE AERIAL, Two different TV regions, playing in 2 different room AT THE SAME TIME!!! I mean you could not make it up! We have to lay on bed to watch news about out region!
So Question is, why is this happening (was not happening at first after TV aerial men came)? How do we fix it so we just get the East Midlands Today version throughout the house? All answers much appreciated.

Interesting as we have exactly the same - tv in kitchen & lounge = EM today, tv in dining room = Birmingham news. same aerial ..... We live inbetween Nottingham & Mansfield. Lets see what the experts come up with!

There's really nothing remarkable about this, so don't get too excited.
Your aerial is able to pick up up any of the channels being broadcast that are sufficiently strong enough to produce a signal to download to the tuner of any TV hung off the end of the cable.
It just so happens that you've got your downstairs TV tuned to the Midlands channel whilst the upstairs is tuned to the E Midlands channel.
If you reselect the 'preferred' channel on the TV to whichever channel you want (it will have found both and it will be much further down the list of stations that have been found on autosearch), Bob's your Uncle.

we get look north news / adds on standard itv and granada news / adds on itv HD

I can get different regions on the same TV by tuning into a different channel number, for instance all the channels 1 to 5 are available in the early 800's and some are from a different region.
