Its the law of the jungle better sums it up.
Quite agree with you anotheoldgit. Anybody found carrying a knife should have an immediate custodial sentence, even if it's only a month or so. If found carrying again the sentence is longer. On a third offence, lock 'em up and throw away the key !!

I was wondering that when i read the story yesterday.

One piece of trash stabs another piece of trash but the jury accept it was self defence ?! What The Funicular is he doing walking the streets carrying a knife like that ?
The jury who had all the available evidence presented to them accepted that this was a classic instance of self defence.

Plenty of youths say the only carry a knife for defence but that can never be an excuse.

This sad incident proves that knives should not be carried rather than encourage it.

I would have thought so. It's a strange decision. I agree with fbg above that there should be a custodial sentence for carrying a knife.
