Is there any speculation out there that is generally accepted as a possible motive by the parents?

That they didn't mean to kill them, but started the fire in the hope of being given a bigger house? All went horriby wrong?

REALLY?? With the bairns still inside? How did people as stupid as that get to keep the kids in the first place. it beggars belief :-(

I think I'd rather wait until the trial is over rather than speculating about possible motives. Listing possible motives doesn't tell us what actually happened and why. It's all very sad though
I don't know if that is what happened of course, but maybe they thought they could get them out before the fire took hold. Also, they may not be guilty. It will all come out in Court. Very, very trragic case.
Most people do not realise how quickly house fires take hold. If you watch this video the room is destroyed in under 3 minutes.

As this is an ongoing court case we are probably not commenting.

Innocent until proven guilty, no matter how heinous the crime.

This is why I so despise trial by media.
