This will do for starters, but what other proposals would you wish to see announced at this weeks Tory conference?

Please try and keep them sensible.

The abolition of air passenger duty and approval for a third runway at Heathrow (neither of which are likely to happen).
Do you not think this is just Tory Grandees playing to the gallery? Free movement within the EU is one of its mainstays.
Wonderful, let's just revert to being an Island nation in splendid isolation and retake the empire whilst we're at it. Hooorah for jolly old England, give em a flag and they'll rule the world, just one problem with that, you couldn't survive outside of the EU and freedom of movement is one of the mainstays of being involved with the EU, so it's never going to happen thank God. Bloody loudmouth Tories pandering to the terrified middle classes.
cheaper british passports.
Usual Tory/Mail spin

Read down - this only applies to Bulgarians and Romanians who already have to have work visas to work here

Big Noise - same old same old

They must think their supporters are really really stupid
Errr I think their supporters are really, really stupid Jake, otherwise they wouldn't be their supporters ;-/
Introduce Sharia law penalties for those convicted who want Sharia law? Seems reasonable and bound to get the Daily Mail's support.

Otherwise, can't think of anything 'sensible' by the standards required.
Seriously, what about a special council tax band for houses worth over a million?
Not possible unless we withdraw from the EU.
offer a tax cut of £40k a year to everyone earning over a million
Block any more coming here till they have a better head count than the census, if the proposals are for almost 70 million people in Britain in the next 10 years where will those coming in be housed, what jobs will they do, and most of all how will the already beleaguered NHS cope. We are a small country which ever way you look at it, and i just can't see how many more could be accommodated.
Then have a full scale no holds barred referendum on the EU.
it's the bloody middle classes who are paying through the nose currently, punish anyone who can make a few bob legally and then smack then with punitive taxes, this just alienates people as it's currently doing. The south of England has long borne the brunt of immigration, and now we are seeing this corner of the world squished by hundreds of thousands of people who come here expecting the land of milk and honey, well if Ireland, Wales, Scotland would take their share then fine.
However there has to be work to go to, and so they come here.
None of this is going to happen, the Tories are as lily livered as the rest of the politicians, tough on crime, tough on immigration, don't make me feckin laugh.
I thought we were encouraging the better off from France coming here. With a 75% tax rate there will surely be an exodus from there.
You ask for some Tory policies and then you say 'keep them sensible'.

Make your mind up which.
Gromit beat me to it :-)
em 10, sorry but we can not have a head count of the migrants, until it starts snowing.
I see the usual lefties are unable to make any sensible comments.
AOG, I would like to see them fulfill the promises made before the election. Especially on Quangos
Adding to ems post anybody not on the census list not eligible for any type of benefits.

Yes totally agree, it is only the ones who are not bothered who knows that they are here, that bother to put their names down on the census forms, it stands to reason.

A more precise way would be for the introduction of Identity Cards, everyone would then need to register on a national data base to get one, this card should contain their photograph, signature, fingerprints and DNA.

And don't any chirp up about them being easy to forge, how many bank notes get forged? Not many with the various safeguards that can be employed today.

The time is long overdue that we know who are legal citizens of the UK and who are not, after all no one objects to driver's licences, passports or company IDs, so why should they be against a national ID card?
