Why do we allow foreign nationals to come over to the UK and receive the very best of treatment all at our expense?

If you took your car to a garage for repairs, does anyone believe that they would allow it to be driven away without one first paying for the cost of repairs?

The news section seems to be getting very tedious lately. I might have a rest from it.

sp, a niece of mine had sufficient qualifications to train as a midwife but there weren't enough places at university. It is investment that is needed not encouragement.
Anotheoldgit I have no reason to retract what I said.
I wonder if the Nigerian woman is related to the chap who E-mailed me about a woman who was going to give birth to her child conceived with an extremely wealthy oil executive , all she needed was the air-fare and then we could split up a sizeable paternity settlement ...

What sort of person am I then, anotheoldgit?
My daughter was in hospital and the American woman in the next bed offered to pay for her treatment and no one even bothered to take her details.
"The news section seems to be getting very tedious lately. I might have a rest from it". GOOD !!!!!

While parents of children in the UK, are forced to take them to the US to receive a three-drug treatment for neuroblastoma costing £210,000.

AOG

I'm still a little concerned about the numbers here.

Do we actually know the true cost of 'health tourism' to the NHS?

Should we trust Richard Littlejohn's figures, or lean towards those dug out by fullfact.org?

Does it make sense for the Government to spend hundreds of man-hours to save 0.2% of its costs, or would it be more prudent to spend time updating management, purchasing and clinical processes to reduce costs?

I see no mention of Richard Littlejohn's figures or even those 'dug out' by fullfact.org in both the Mail's report which I supplied or even anywhere else in the thread.

Enough to say that our NHS is being robbed by these foreign nationals, and it needs to be stopped forthwith.
I think the basic hypocrisy of some on here needs addressing. If as i said earlier one was to cast a bad light on a black person for whatever reason, then the proverbial ton of bricks will come falling down on your head. However be a chav, whatever that is, and you will be consigned to the dustbin of life, welcome to the land of Nod.
As to the person who thinks calling a woman who's husband has worked damned hard to provide for his family, a rich B**ch ought to feel ashamed.
anotheoldgit, are you going to reveal what sort of person I am or no?

As you believe I have made a false accusation against you, would it help if I posted a few of the comments you have made about black folk and black organisations? You've been on here for more than six years so there's a fair selection.

Want me to post them?
The question is Corby - is their any truth in them.
Hmm it seems a few posts have been removed but the offer made earlier to anotheoldgit remains.

Brenden, he has said in the past that black folk can not be English, do you think that is correct? There are more examples and I may post them a wee bit later.

I'll wait for anotheoldgit's response
what is the point of rehashing old ground, people on AB get heated over comments made, we know that. I do, especially when i think it's rude, unfair, wrong. But looking back over how long ? to see what AOG has said seems a total waste of time. It's gone past the point of the OP as well.
He objected to something I said and demanded that I withdraw it which I refused to do. That post and another from gromit in support of what I had said have been removed. anotheoldgit or someone else must have reported it, that is fine, I have no objections to its being looked at by the Ab Editor.

If I am accused of making a false accusation, does it not make sense to print proof in support of what I had alleged?
She should have been turned away from the hospital like every other health tourist should, no matter what is wrong with them and whatever the consequences. These people will soon get the message.
I agree with Jake the peg that woman would never have been allowed on a plane at any airport in Europe or most of the rest of the world.
She must have had cooperation from the Nigerian authorities to be allowed to travel. The bill should be sent the the Nigerian embassy .
Also how was she allowed into the UK ? Immigration at Heathrow should have realised what she was up to and refused her entry to UK.
