So it looks like the closing ceremony is even better than the opening one.

Can we really complain about the sheer quality of the show?

Not too 'Leftist' or too multicultural is it? (apart from Tinie, Jessie and Taoi).

He was live in his first song, but he really looked to me like he was miming the second one.

And I agree, sp, I don't know why Annie Lennox was miming either :/.
Well I thought it was brilliant!
Dont agree sp George's second song was about hope and the joy of still being alive, very much in tune with the olympic ethic - any way he is great and Greek and so he can do what he likes we are luck to still have him.

It is a new song maybe he doesn't know the words. Sounded instantly forgettable to me.

Personally, I would've preferred something cheesey from his Wham back catalogue (Wake Me Up or Club Tropicana) - something that would've got the whole stadium singing along.

I actually like the new single, and think it'll be a hit - it just seemed a little bit too much of a self-promotional thing in the context of the show.

However, my personal biggest disappointment was the whole 'Bowie tease'. I geniunely thought that one of those sheets covering the lorries would drop to reveal Bowie live...and instead we got a load of models wearing yards of Bacofoil.

Boo...
Sugs sadly not good but Ray Davies and Roger Daltry brilliant. Enjoyed most of the show and especially liked the Trotters/Batman/Italian Job bit. Where however in the parade of models was Twiggy? She is an icon of British models, and should certainly have been there . However, all in all mostly a great night's entertainment.
I thought Ray Davies was fine - it's a song where the voice doesn't have to do a lot of work, you can just croon - but it was a case of the song, not the singer; it was about London.

Probably the best song about London ever, in fact.
