A voilent burglar(with a long history of crime) broke into someones house and laid into them with a knuckle duster. However the victim got a knife and stabbed him in the eye. Of course the lawyers span a sob story but for once the judge did the right thing.

You have to wondr if previous soft touch Judges had done something about him in the past then he may still have is eye?

Nothing unusual or strange about this case

The guy was being attacked and used appropriate force - that's always been the law.

If he'd then gone and found a baseball bat and beaten him as he'd been lying bleeding on the floor he'd be in the dock too

I really don't see what's difficult about this
Why only 23 months for GBH with intent? He'll be out in less than a year doing it again. Good on the householder though, this sort of scum need a wake up call.
Wait until the scumbag comes out (early I suppose) and goes on invalidity benefit - he wont need to go out burgling and wounding as he will be living on the state I suppose.
23 months...I thought it was a misprint so i read it again !

"Nothing unusual or strange about this case"

dead right there, the usual paltry sentence for a piece of low life scum.

bet he wished hed taken him out of the gene pool , and not just wounded him.
