the Boar war, that'd be the dispute over swine flu.

Anyway, anyone involved is dead. Not so the victims of torture in Kenya.
<< Mr Nzili was castrated,
Mr Nyingi severely beaten
Mrs Mara subjected to appalling sexual abuse
in detention camps during the rebellion.>>

No good scroungers obviously.

Never mind the thousands of black africans killed, maimed and tortured.

What about the dozens of white settlers who were killed?
This is getting bl00dy ridiculous. Are the British the only ones in the world who have to "apologise"? Of course the mau mau bever committed an attrocity did they!
so these people committed atrocities, did they? You have evidence of this?
A guy i used to work with was involved in the mau mau uprising when he was a young soldier in the british army, they could ask him for an apology but he'd struggle to give them one because the animals cut his tongue out, we should introduce them to some of our soldiers who were tortured at their hands and see if they still want an apology!
According to Wiki:

<<The British likely killed in excess of 20,000 Mau Mau militants, (and) dealt with by capital punishment: by the end of the Emergency, the grand total was 1,090.

Mau Mau militants were guilty of numerous atrocities racked up 1,819 murders of their fellow Africans

Thirty-two European and twenty-six Asian civilians were also murdered by Mau Mau militants, with similar numbers wounded.>>
That's awful Dan.

I wonder why they disliked the Army so much?

<<A British officer describes his actions after capturing three Mau Mau suspects:

I stuck my revolver right in his grinning mouth and I said something, I don't remember what, and I pulled the trigger. His brains went all over the side of the police station. The other two Mickeys [Mau Mau] were standing there looking blank. I said to them that if they didn't tell me where to find the rest of the gang I'd kill them too. They didn't say a word so I shot them both. One wasn't dead so I shot him in the ear. When the sub-inspector drove up, I told him that the Mickeys tried to escape. He didn't believe me but all he said was "bury them and see the wall is cleared up.">>

<<electric shock was widely used, as well as cigarettes and fire. Bottles (often broken), gun barrels, knives, snakes, vermin, and hot eggs were thrust up men's rectums and women's vaginas. The screening teams whipped, shot, burned and mutilated Mau Mau suspects, ostensibly to gather intelligence for military operations and as court evidence>>
(wikipaedia)
I remember the atrocities of the Mau Mau. They were animals, looting and burning white settlers homes murdering them even killing their own people. It is far too late now to rake it all up again. Who on earth put these misguided people up for an 'apology'? Someone ought to stand with them and ask for an apology for the terror the settlers had to go through from them.
Let's ask the Italians to apoligise for Roman behaviour in Chelmsford 123ad shall we, get real!
moonrocker

i will explain it very s.l.o.w.l.y

the victims of Chelmsford 123 AD are a long, long time dead

these victims are still with us

spot the difference?
Absolute attrocities!

the way they behaved we should have sent them back to their own country!

Oh wait!
let me spell this out Zheul: "many atrocities were committed on both sides" geddit, read of some of the mau mau creative methods or have you only eyes for the British? When do we get their apology. Why is the fact that some are still living relevant? There are many still living after IRA attrocities when can we expect their apology.

I'll ask this very slowly, Why is it only the British that must apologise?
MoonRocker - Totally, totally agree with you, but it's a bit like banging your head againt a brick wall isn't it? And what the hell has Cameron to apologise for - was he there ??? God, it must stick in his throat ...
I can understand these mau mau terrorists feeling agreived chaptazbru, their whinning is expected, probably after some compo etc but it's our own anti British British like zhuel and co that disgust me the most, back anyone but the British eh guys? When are you going to be calling for the IRA to apoligse then?
It's the anti British whiners that get me too - a lot of them on here sadly.
here's one account:
"
Thirty-eight-year-old Roger Ruck and his wife Esmee, a doctor who ran a dispensary for Africans, died in the vicious onslaught, their bodies slashed to ribbons by the mob and left on the veranda.

The same fate was meted out to one of the family’s African servants, who ran out to help them. But the horrific massacre didn’t stop there. The raiders rampaged through the house, looting its contents, then stormed upstairs.

Behind a locked bedroom door was the Rucks’ son, Michael, aged six. We will never know if he was still asleep or if the noise had woken him, in which case he must have lain in terror as the intruders sought him out.

They broke down the door, knives flashed — and in an instant the boy was dead."

Still serves him right for being British eh zeuhl/jno?
Be careful MoonRocker, they'll come back with examples of British brutality now - you know you can't win ..... !!
That's Africa....
If these people are asking for an apology are they admitting they were part of a militant group that took part in war crimes?

The guy i know's face is an absolute mess its covered in scars where it was shredded when he was tied to a tree by razor wire round his neck, in his mouth and round his forehead! He was a young officer and was made to watch as they slaughtered and hacked to bits the soldiers in his command. You can understand why they weren't always treat that well when our soldiers got a hold of them!
yes, I've not doubted the British did attrocities but why is it only us that must apologise for everything.
