Why?

It's their job isn't it? to protect the runners? Would you be less offended if they'd pushed aside a chav teen?
quite right, B00, she might have beaten the runner to death with her pension book.
On day one they pushed someone to the ground. Then it was reported that the person had 'stumbled'. Errrrr, no, I was watching. The security runner tackled him.

Yes i would Boo!!
They are just legalised thugs, because they have some kind of Uniform they think they are above the Law.
Ahhh right kat, so it's a matter of age whether you'd get offended or not over an incident like this?
darn right. We wrinklies don't take kindly to other wrinklies getting shoved around.
lol jno :P

What im trying to establish is whether kat is offended that the person is 78 therefore fragile (?) and got shoved aside or the fact that someone got shoved aside at all?
can't speak for kat, but personally I'm more annoyed because she was an old lady than if she'd been young and robust (chav or not). I'd have been very cross if anyone had done that to my mum in her old age, and I shall rush to your defence if anyone does it to you when you're 78 (although I shall be 256 myself by then).
I watched that too kat1, it was disgraceful, the security runner could have escorted the lady back a few paces, and told her she was too close to the 'action'. Instead she ran her backwards and pushed her into place. Luckily the lady didn't overbalance. I hope the jobsworth that did that gets a telling off at least. Personally I'm peed off with the whole torch running business, they have devoted a whole programme to the various places in Yorkshire where the torch is being lit. Everyone overexcited, kids waving flags. I'm not a tennis fan either but I'm watching that instead.
