the NHS that i have seen over time is staffed by many lazy incompetents. The few really good people are the ones doing all the work. This should not be about private and public, but only about patients welfare.

It's like the Civil service, the Police and the Councils - administrators and managers never sack themselves. When savings have to be made, they de-skill frontline jobs and do anything they can to keep themselves in position.

Venator, indeed that is exactly what happens, the joe bloggs go, shoved out to save costs, but the top line stay put.

Personally during the latter stages of the last Labour government I had the misfortune to go into hospital. Not only were the staff pleasant but the operations were carried out like a production line.... come into hospital in the morning and discharged early evening. Some may not agree with this but efficiency was the buzz word and they deserved every penny they earned.

I don't trust any government with the NHS, they seem to either want to privatise stuff by hiving functions out to the cheapest bidder, or want to bloat the management in order to monitor and control everything. Unfortunately until we have genuine democracy and the public makes the decisions then Westminster is all we have.

my experience of the NHS is that there are some very good people working in it, but there are many who are useless, don't care, and shouldn't be working in it.
