I can barely believe what I have just read on the BBC website regarding the above.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17865736

It is being seriously suggested that Mr Williams locked himself in the bag. He presumably also padlocked the bag closed once he had zipped himself inside. Some chap called William MacKay said, “There are people around who can do amazing things and Mr Williams may well have been one of those persons”.

Is it just me or is this blatant (and quite pathetic) attempt at a cover-up?

AOG - "Mr Williams had £20,000 worth of womens’ clothing in his flat. How does a person who obviously led such a lifestyle as this, ever get into the secret services?" -

because until his death, his private life would have been just that - private.

The on-line pornography indulsty generates one of the largest incomes on the planet, and virtually every technological advance in the internet provision around the world has been driven by it.

But how many people would confirm accessing pornography regularly on an application form for a job - or even discuss it around a dinner table?

People often do things that are uttely secret from their nearest and dearest until they are discovered, in this case, after death - but we should never be surprised at anyone's secrets - we all have them.
Vetting would not pick up recreational activities that were kept private.

If Mr Williams was that good at keeping things secret he may have been ideal for the service.

MI5 and MI6 have a track record of employing 'interesting' characters.
And how easy would it be for the security to plant the stuff, and to create a false browsing history on the mans computer...
The report is ambiguous, it is not clear whether Mr MacKay did manage to close the bag, "He had struggled to shut the bag during his own attempts, and caused damage to the zip", that isn't the same as being unable to do it.

It is however clear that Mr Faulding did not manage to close and padlock it.
And even if you did enjoy the sensation of being enclosed

zipping it up would give you that

why padlock it?
Apparently two keys which fitted the padlock were found under his right buttock inside the bag.
Interesting

But how could they be used unless one had the means to cut the bag to access the lock?

Putting the keys in before snapping the lock shut from outside would be more feasible and might have been thought to place cause with Williams himself.
Zeuhl, if he as means to cut the bag he hardly needed to key, did he?
i could believe he got in the bag...perhaps to hide... i mean who would look there if you are after someone? ...but yes he could not have locked it - and why would he have?

perhaps he got in the bag to hide, and then was discovered and someone locked it...but to be honest...i think most people could rip their way out of a hold all if it was that or die!

holdalls also are generally not totally air tight either are they?

Ron.
I've read most of the evidence, it looks like an open and shut case.
joko - an expensive holdall could be made of strong leather with double stitching on all its seams - no ripping potential there.
I've read through all the posts on this thread and it's confirmed something I've thought about the case for a long time...no-one has a clue as to how this man was killed, and there's an awful lot of straw clutching going on.

Sadly, I don't think we will ever know how he was killed/died. I mean...it's been two years so far...
/// .i think most people could rip their way out of a hold all if it was that or die! ///

We are talking about a real man with nothing more than manly finger nails, we are not talking about Edward Sissorhands. :0)

A 'real man' as opposed to what - a hologram?
Oh and by the way - "£20,000 of women's clothes" could conceivably be a single antique Balenciaga ballgown that he has as an investment.

Just saying...

I'm sure AOG can defend himself, but just in case he's busy, I think he was comparing a real man (Mr Williams) to Edward Scissorhands, as opposed to...anything else.
sp1814 - a fair point.

AOG - apologies if I appeared pedantic, and therefore humourless - it's been a long day!
didn't they find the keys under his body, which was tightly packed into the case, if so, how on earth would he be able to lock himself in. Poor guy, sex game gone wrong perhaps, horrible way to go though.
they also reported that there were no scratch marks inside the holdall, if he had been trying to get out wouldn't there have been some.
