Is this not one of the most abominable and disgusting practices to be introduced by a Islamic-dominated parliament?

i hope they dont make it a requirement, imagine being forced to do that!? -
i imagine many men simply wouldnt physically be able to ... the trauma would be horrific!

/// Oh gawd! I sense you’ve gone all bristly and ‘offended’ again. Okay. You said //But having sex with a dead person….///

/// ..… and by ‘her’, I was referring to the dead person you mentioned. ///

Incidentally it was not I who had your post removed, the ED must have considered it offensive.

/// However, you can hardly ‘require’ people to answer in a way that meets with your approval. They must respond as they will. ///

Perhaps not but I would expect them to join in a sensible debate on a very serious subject.

Without this it just turns what is after all a serious adult news site, into a rather silly childish tickle tackle site, consisting of cheap innuendoes, in a pathetic attempt to get a laugh.

Would you wish every news item to be treated in such a way?
i await keyplus and the others attempts to justify this with bated breath...
You'd need to be a bit of a cold fish to want anything to do with that.
Keyplus would never justify this...!!!

He just won't condemn it....
The idea that anyone reads the Daily Mail and then not only believes it but gets hot under the collar about it is rather hard to believe.
tickle tackle...!!??

I think it might take more than that.........:o/
AOG, //Incidentally it was not I who had your post removed, the ED must have considered it offensive.//

You must be getting me mixed up with someone else. My post is still there.

//Would you wish every news item to be treated in such a way?//

What I want is irrelevant. People treat items as they wish to treat them.

The last person who attempted a rather cheap Daily Mail bash, also failed to read this.

Please try and keep up.
who put you up in the position of spokesperson for AnswerBank?

I was asking on my own behalf Old Git

Because you were the one threatening to 'censor' the opinions of others by having the thread removed because the answers chosen by other ABers didn't meet some arbitrary standard of your own imagining
This is not ISLAM at all. ISLAM does not allow these practices. Muslims are in fact advised to touch a dead body as softly as cotton wool would feel and only when absolutely necessary. I am disgusted by this article.

Well - knock me down with a feather...

It's true (although the Daily Mail headline downplays the fact that women could also have sex with their dead husband).

Just...weird.
having read the article, and some of the comments on here is it any wonder Islam gets slated. And making light of the fact the deceased husband can lawfully have sex with her seems bizarre in the extreme, add in the even worse aspects, if that wasn't bad enough, of denying women an education and so on. I will read Ladybirders link, that supports The Mail's article in so far as the first part, lets see what else these fools can conjure up.
he can have a bobbit for longevity
The alarming thing is that Egypt was one of the more enlightened and progressive islamic states.
Right, seriously AOG. Ladybirder’s link appears to confirm that this news story is genuine, and since the troubles in Egypt, these rulings from the current leaders do not surprise me in the least. Sadly, unless things change drastically, Egypt, a country quite dear to my heart, and one I know well, is on the verge of reverting to the dark ages.

An apology for your error would be courteous, AOG.
some countries make it illegal... I wonder why they feel they have to do so?
On the "being serious" front ...

I think part of it is that some of the ideas within Islam are so absurd, particularly with regards to the supremacy of their men over their women, that they open themselves up to ridicule.

If we don't ridicule them, they might actually think that we are taking their beliefs seriously.

No education for women?

Women have to hide their faces?

Sex with dead women?

Women walking two paces behind?

I'm sorry ... I'm going to ridicule those ideas every day of the week. I'm not having a "serious discussion" about having sex with dead women because, as far as I'm concerned, THERE'S NOTHING TO DISCUSS.

Or ... do some people think it might be worth discussing ???

=0o
jno, I'm not sure I'm understanding you. They are making it legal, not illegal.
i was wondering when someone would mention how enlightened Egypt has become, or has been. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors, it may have some of the trappings of the west, but it isn't, and now may never be more enlightened. Let's hope someone has got this wrong, or that the controlling party has a change of heart. No women despair if they have *** like these controlling their lives.
