Love a real life mystery redshoot! I'm leaning towards a well planned plot but I'm definately intrigued. by the way do we all know the wendy's finger mystery was solved?
Very strange and there are obvious instances of autistic savants and schizophrenics etc, but per graemer am beginning to suspect possible promotion ruse. If its not...well, it would have been a great idea as self promotion!
Find the piano, mystery solved!!!

It says in the link that they have been inundated with calls and have a definite lead.  Someone must recognise him!

I think its very sad, apparently he had all the labels cut off his clothes which is a sign of mental illness

I began thinking that it was some kind of plot, but now am not so sure.  I can sort imagine he and his nurse will fall in love and then appear on Richard and Judy.
I thought the labels had been cut out so that they couldn't retrace him, as they believe he is an immigrant.
Hes french!! thats all I know.Might explain why he doesent respond .
Is he French?  I thought they said he was Polish, others said he was Eastern European.
If he's an illegal immigrant you'd think he would want to slip into the country unnoticed. Getting yourself on the front page of every paper in the country is an inefficient way of doing this.
If hes French he not an illegal immigrant!
We're letting the french into this country now? Where will we draw the line?
How do they know he's French?

"Health workers caring for the "Piano Man" could not confirm reports he had been identified as French street musician Steven Villa Masson."

That's what it said today.

He is probably a foreigner of some description.  I would guess he will soon come to his senses when they start giving him a house and clothes and money all buckshee.  Then we won't be able to get rid of him.  I am surprised they havn't got a ready made British passport already.

It's obvious he's from the future a la 12 monkeys. I bet he's cropped up in world war 1 photos.

I'm confused as to the comments about letting the French in.  As we're not part of Schengen I presumed we still DID have controls on immigation (even if they don't work - in THEORY we have them).  I suppose if he hasn't been here for long he's still just a tourist.  But if he IS an immigrant, how does being French make it legal!?  Please explain!!

Self-promotion!?  Oh how our faith in human nature has departed us!

Also - if he's French, that wouldn't explain not talking.  If I went to France and everyone spoke to me in French (quelle surprise!) and I couldn't understand a word - I'd speak English (or German for that matter) until someone found a translater.  I realise it doesn't work so well for we native English speakers, but I'm just saying that being foreign doesn't make him a mute.

What's a translater? Is that some guy who repairs your roof with tights on?
No, a translator is someone who can speak 2 languages MargeB.

Say I was one of the thousands of highly talented musicians in the UK who wanted to make it big. It's a real struggle.

One way is to walk around town, dazed (ok, most do this already), and just wait until someone calls in the authorities. Then don't talk to anyone. Then draw your instrument of choice. Then go play a huge piece on it. Bingo. You're all over the press. Everyone wants to listen to you.

It may not have happened that way. But that would have been a great way to promote oneself.

Faith in human nature...I'm thinking of Aaron Barshak, Fathers for Justice, dozens of others. But in this case, you're right though, he may not be doing it to promote himself and may in fact be a raving nutter.

I can speak 2 languages and I'm not a translator.
