no
they're either useless, lazy or picky.
Wow ... is the state of the economy down to David Cameron ALREADY ??

After about ten years in power, Labour were still saying that the state of the economy was a legacy of the previous Conservative administration.

So, apparently ...

When the Tories are in power, it's down to them.

When Labour are in power, it's down to the Tories.

So if they can never influence the Economy, why do Labour bother standing for election?

is the current economic situation down to DC no - then answering your question - no
you watching PMQ's too - bluddy hilarious
Parliament should hang its head.

However, Cameron should only be 'responsible' for the numbers that have been added since the General Election.

I trust that the total figure wasn't 'Zero' when he took over the reins?

Thatcher seemed happy enough the three million unemployed...
What has it got to do with Cameron, most of that group were unemployed under the previous government.
They can't get jobs if there is nothing out there and no-one will employ 16-18 year olds anyway. How can you manufacture jobs? I live in Bristol and when I look around and see how many firms have just disappeared it makes me despair. Wills, Fry's, Cadburys, the Board Mills, Douglas Motorcycles, Lysachts, and many, many small firms - all gone.
no, blame the shower that came before, but of course the blinkered won't do that, same as thinking one size fits all, which it doesn't. The current crew are still picking up the pieces for the last overspending, throw it all away government, and for another cliche, rome wasn't built in a day, so expect more of the same.
Tony Blair said education, education, education, can there someone explain how we have so many who are unemployable, at least according to many top bosses in the UK.
agree em - it doesn't apply to all of them, but so many leave school unable to comply with basic skills in maths and English.
Minimum wage for a 16-17 year old is £3.68 per hour.
Would you be dashing around, looking for work at that rate?
Would you go into an aprenticeship ( if there were any) at £2.60 per hour?
A few youngsters would, but the vast majority...........
There are some apprenticeships, we're offering them at the moment, one year contract and you get an NVQ at the end of it too.
I used to work for a plumber/heating engineer.....I had CV's coming in daily looking for apprenticships. There are loads of youngsters who want to work.

The people who think that the majority of young people won't work for the money they might get paid must also think there's jobs available for those that want them.
Are there really so many un-filled vacancies around?
I only have to have my ears and eyes open, it's plain that something stinks within our educational system. They are pushing out children with little or no grounding in subjects that do matter, and awarding degrees on subjects that don't. This country needs to get it's priorities right, education is the be all and end all, but for that you need good teachers, not mediocrity writ large. If it takes more than a year, and probably longer to get shot of a poor teacher, this means another failure of the educational system. Other professions have the same problem, police, NHS, it's like a closed shop where you keep them on irrespective of their capability. This didn't happen a great deal in the companies i worked for over many years. If the person was deemed a lemon, then out they went, otherwise it meant the rest of the staff carried those people and private companies simply cannot afford to do that.
So should DC be ashamed, no, but our educational establishments should be, and the unions that support them to the nth degree.
Some of you need to live in the real world. Where are these jobs you speak of?

The Tories took over from Labour - however as they are now having to admit the banks caused most, of the economic turmoil.

However since the Tories have taken over the banks are making profits however in the last three weeks Thorntons - Peacocks - Barretts among others have gone into administration. I take it this is Tory job creation at its best.

Never mind the disabled will soon be looking for jobs Tories looking after the people.
There aren't any jobs generally though (certainly not round here) for people with families to support, let alone for unskilled youngsters.
