Okay - last 'Daily Mail bashing post of the month...promise.

Have a look at this story:

http://www.dailymail....Love-performance.html

Now, am I being over-sensitive by pointing out that referring to Rihanna's outfit as "Tantalizing in tartan...Rihanna set pulses racing in a naughty school girl get up".

Seriously - how dodgy is that?

Turn it around for a moment - say if Robbie Williams released a track and appeared in the accompanying video dressed a boy scout, there would be an outcry if he were described as "Robbie was dressed as a sexy school boy..."

It's wrong, surely???

I thought she was brilliant - school girls dont wear tartan anyway - tartan school uniform - I dont think so !
lots of schools have their girls in tartan kilt-style skirts
I love tartan but omg did that dress do her figure no justice at all, whoever done her wardrobe needs to be fired.
they probably bottled out of the headline 'Rihanna sets paedophiles' hearts aflutter', which is unlike them; but this celeb focus is the area in which the Mail's website differs sharply from the newspaper itself.

Schoolgirls wore tartan in my day, but perhaps it was only Scottish ones, I can't remember.
Is ot me, or can you see out of her nostrils in this puc?

And again without drunken fingers.

Can you see out of her nostrils in this pic?

You are only a perv if watching a female in school uniform turns you on.
No not really wrong tbh, ' sexy' schoolgirls have always featured in the British 'culture' mainly since they tend to emulate the older fashioned girl's finishing school uniforms which would mean the girls fell into the post pubescent 16+ group. I can't see anyone getting turned on by a girl in a real school uniform, it's just a play on words ( since it doesn't look like a current school uniform at all) rather than an actual attempt to stir up latent paedophilia I think.
What is wrong is you reading the Mail! Suggest you leave the rag alone; as I do
I would agree that the 'sexy schoolgirl' tag is somewhat out of date in this day and age - but remember, the Mail's readership is mainly Conservative Middle England, where sexism is 'just a bit of fun', and worrying about Johhny Foreigner is far more importent than some gel on the TV.
She didn't even look like she was dressed as a school girl...
Actually some schools DO have tartan uniforms - 2 schools where I used to live.

And yes, I think you are being over sensitive.

Dunno - still sounds weird. The whole 'naughty schoolgirl' bit seems...wrong.

Especially when it comes from a paper which vehementally (and correctly) attacks the over-sexualisation of children.

By the way - I saw her performance and at no time did I think 'Oh, she's dressed up as a schoolgirl'.
What used to amaze me was the truly amazing metamorphosis that girls went through between leaving the fifth form of St Trinian's and coming back to the sixth form. They left as spotty grubby little oiks and then re-appeared as gorgeous women...

You seem to have an unnatural obsession with paedophiles.

You also continually criticise the Mail, if you don't like it why do you read from it?

It is almost like taking the trouble to reach up to read a top-shelf magazine, and then posting on here how disgusting you found it.

Notice you never made any remarks about the picture the Mail printed regarding the 'Pride London Gay Festival'.

I would not wish to attempt to answer on behalf od sp1814, but I have failed to notice an 'obsession' with paedophiles - can you offer any eveidence to back up that assertion AOG?

Similarly, I fail to see a link between the picture you have posted, and the point SP is making - can you expland please? Thank you.
'twas I who made the remark about paedophiles, andy; and I was thinking what the Mail's response might be if a paedophile was found with photos of bogus schoolgirls.

In truth, the answer is probably 'not much', since 'naughty schoolgirls' seem to be part of the lexicon of many British males, for reasons that elude me but probably aren't really paedophiliac.

My comment was made on a personal basis, not in my capacity as representative of the international communist conspiracy.
The dress just about covered her arse and she was wearing suspenders. I think the Mail picked up on what she was aiming for.
