notafish, //he's not an original artist//

What do you mean? Of course he is.
Totally not cool.
Oh and Elvis was ground breaking. And Cliff was a wannabe Elvis.
stations can play what they like, but to call yourself Absolute Radio 60s when you mean Absolutely Only The Kind Of Stuff Our Owner Likes 60s should invite a visit from trading standards. He's quite correct, they're writing him out of history.
Seems fair enough to me. Absolute obviously have a particular listener demographic in mind, and they are entitled to play or exclude whoever they want.

I think cliff is just mithering over lost royalty opportunities.

If the station have got it wrong, I am sure the listeners will vote with their ears ;)
He's had a long and successful career but he's never, ever, been cool.
If nothing else he's able to eat a balanced diet and maintain digestive transit.
He or his promoters should know when to give up - when the sad image starts to erode sale of his old standards.

Some time ago for me, sadly
Never was cool......
LOL Douglas you crack me up. This is getting to be a habit.
A radio station that bills itself as "Beatles and Motown" is not going to play Sir Clifford of Riches now is it?
It's the height of "uncool" for him to get his underwear in a twist over it as well ...

Quite.
:D
Towie, what was Cliff Richard doing on Graham Norton, I have had my suspicions but on Telly!

well, this happened a few years ago on some other station, didn't it? I can share his exasperation with people trying to pretend he never existed. It's the same with the way lots of Gold stations pretend punk never happened.
whats punk?
I associate him more with the seventies really.
Its about time he made way for new talent instead of trying to get the No 1 at Xmas every year
I like some of his songs, but since seeing one of his appearences on Loose Woman early this year, he is an arrogant git and sue barker had a lucky escape-I remember when they split up-she announced he was controlled by his sisters (similar words)
