I think it's brilliant Daisy................pmsl.
That's Madonna's daughters name....copycats..
Does that mean she was conceived at Lourdes.
Question Author
With Gerrard's injury problems it's probably a miracle she was conceived anywhere.
At least it's not as bad as the Americans who seem to use surnames as first names. Some girls' names in the US are Madison, Cameron, Morgan, Taylor, Tucker, Tupper, Cassidy etc. Even worse are when they name a child as if they were naming a dog - Misti, Brandi, Honey etc.

A child is only a child for a few years, they spend te next 70 years or more as an adult. They should therefore be given adult names. Imagine a woman called Brandi or Cassidy!
Lourdes is a common Hispanic name. My (Cuban)sister-in-laws sister is named Lourdes.
Why make fun of a name because it's different?
Shannon, Clare, Kerry, Emly....I could think of more. People name their kids after things that mean a lot to them.
Pasta....Because Stevie G is a scouser....
"Why make fun of a name because it's different" Pasta? Most children with unusual names suffer terrible ribbings from their schoolmates and other kids. They then have to go through life as adults with whatever name their parents bestowed upon them. If it's unusual the person spends the rest of their life having to spell their name then try to explain what it means and why they have it.

I used to know a young neighbour called Jotham after an Old Testament king. He was very upset how the other children teased him over that. The usual conversation when he met someone was for his parents to say "Jotham" J-O-T-H-A-M - "Well, it's the name of an Old Testament king. "Oh" the other person would say with a sidelong look. The poor lad is condemned to sdo that for the rest of his life.

I have had to spell out my (very basic...it's spelt as it's said) surname all my life. Then listened to the....'any relation to professor Moriarty'

Yeah....I'm related to that fictional character.....and NO, it's not Italian!!!

It happens anyway.....when you go to school with someone with an unusual name....it quickly becomes usual.
Calling his son Lourdes Gerrard is a joke, his father the footballer, is a Scouse ABH thug and a womaniser!!!!
Question Author
er it's his daughter............
And you stand in moral judgement because???
Lol Craft....missed that bit.
My mistake misread it, but boy or girl hes still a thug if you hadn't read the papers/facts 18 months ago!
"Imagine a woman called Brandi or Cassidy!"

That would only work if she got a job at the Playboy Mansion, and spoke with a Southern US draaaawl.
some parents should do detention, for the truly stupid names they give their children.
I quite like the name Lourdes and I also never laughed at the name Harper, that's kinda funky and cool.

Let's face it, these children aren't going to be going to the local comp, filled with chavvy kids, so the chances of them ever being picked on for their names are extremely minimal.
