If this person satisfactory sues the Police for her boy friend's death, then the award she may get should be used to pay towards the damage and cost of the riots.

Whether or not he actually fired the gun in is possession is irrelevant, if one carries a gun on the streets then one should expect to get shot.

Perhaps as in China, she could be asked to pay for the bullets ...
His brother was killed earlier this year and he believed he was a target.

His arrest sounds like a c0ck up, police shooting each other in the excitement. There was no shoot out and only police weapons were discharged.
Oops!

Well at least he had more than a table leg so they are getting better.
On R4 news a short while ago The IPCC have released a statement about the incident on Thursday.

From their investigations so far, the gun found had not been fired, and the bullet in the policeman's radio was police issue.
I still need to know the answr to the big question: who shot the radio?
The police shot their own man. He was saved by his radio. Sounds like a botched operation.
<<who shot the radio? >>

Video Killed the Radio
sounds like they're trying to blame the media again
It does appear that the officer whose radio stopped a bullet was in severe danger of losing his life - from the police.

AOG - I fail to see how compensation for six innocent children should be taken to pay for a riot which was not of their instigation.

i think your well-developed sense of social outrage has clouded your judgement on this occasion.
"if one carries a gun on the streets then one should expect to get shot"

not really, but one can expect a minimum of 5 years in the nick.

"Whether or not he actually fired the gun in is possession is irrelevant"

erm, no it isn't. or is your whole second paragraph an oxymoron ?
aog, there were two parties involved in the shooting incident. If compensation were to be awarded, would that not imply the police were guilty of wrongdoing? If so, by your logic, it should be the police paying and not the partner.
Maybe the trigger happy copper who caused all this should pay compensation?
