does the pope still have any living family? i am not religious at all and only go to church for the usual christening,wedding or funeral, but i find the whole thing so interesting, i have been watching sky news and have found out some interesting things about the way things happen through history. does anyone else feel the same or i am i just a sado!!!!!!!!!

No you're not a sado, i think it's interesting too! I've found it all interesting ever since I read Dan Brown's 'Angels & Demons'. If you haven't read it, I strongly recommend it!! It's all about the conflict between religion and science, based mostly around Catholism (prob spelt that wrong!!) & the Vatican. I've prob made it sound really boring, but it was excellent!  Think I preferred that book to the Da Vinci Code!

Sorry  - don't know anything about his relatives!

All his close family had died when he was in his teens according to one obituary I read. I don't suppose he was secretly married to Mary Magdalene, but I dare say Dan Brown will write about it.
Angels and Demons is really good to read if you want to know more about the 'conclave' process that will start after the Pope's funeral. Just remember most of the rest of the book is fiction!
