So , Kate McCann ( on publication of her book ) is calling upon David Cameron , for the government to '' take some responsibility '' in finding their missing daughter .

Is her choice of words reasonable , in the circumstances ?

no its not IMO, whilst its a very sad case, thousands of children have gone missing since maddies disappearance, it would be unfair to throw resources and funding at this case and ignore all the others
I agree with caz.
Despite my very strong feelings & emotions on this subject, I sort of agree with Cazz - little Madeliene is not the only missing child in this country.

Please can this thread NOT be about the 'Trial, Judgement and Denoucement and Guilty or Not Guilty' verdict on Kate McCann.... we've had enough of those.
Yes same here
Hear, hear Salla
Responsibility goes back over 4 years. No amount of campaigning can absolve that. You cant shift the blame .

As I understand it , they have had a lot of funds donated to their effort already , private or otherwise .

I dont accept it is reasonable to expect the Government to made further resources available to the cause .

Sad as it is for them - there are lots of families out there with missing loved ones , whose cases has not commanded the high profile , their's has - and who have had minimal assistance , compared to what the McCanns's have had .
A little British girl has been kidnapped & the Portugese police will NOT give access to their files - on the grounds that the file contains 'sensitive' information. With Camerons intervention these files would be released to British investigators.

Don't think the McCanns are asking the Government for money - they want David Cameron to put pressure on the Portuguese Authorities to show all their files and information.
opps, sorry, Tambo, I've repeated moreorless what you have wrote....(:o(
You can sign the petition to Cameron here......

Yes - but they have said that they are appealing for more funds , as they are running out of money .
So equally , they are not saying that they dont want the government to contribute to the fund .
so what Berti-----there are costs to be met for the website & 2 staff - all in a good cause to help find Maddie.

'' so what Berti ? ''

Well the so what is - should they expect public funds to be made available ?
berti......in answer to your last post.................no
Loads of people go missing every year - I don't see it as the Government's responsibility to find them at all. It's four years on, what can they do after all this time?
I do wonder if the Portuguese police did a thorough investigation. maybe the British police would find something if they looked into it.
has Gerry McCann got a brilliant PR , i never hear his name
I wondered the same thing Sara...the same thing happened when Ben Needham went missing, his mother felt the Greek police didnt do enough either. I wonder if the Government will help his mum too?
