Is it time that the press stopped whining about gagging orders?

We all love a bit of gossip, but why is it that certain newspapers (well, mainly the Daily Heil) are getting so worked up over gagging orders?

It is NOT our right to know which footballer is having an affair, or which soap star had an 'away day' in Aiya Napa last month. It seems that certain newspapers are livid, because they're being denied the right to sell more copy.

Is this in the public interest, or is it something that that public is interested in (there's a BIG difference).

Are we a nation gagging to know who is sleeping with whom and when?

Well, you obviously didn't choke and die on all the mint leaves !!

ha ha ha ha ha ... !!

237 ... there is one caveat ...

In the morning, when I've not drifted home from some seedy seafront bar, I do, of course, reserve the right to disclaim anything that I've posted on here at this time of night.

It's just a precaution, you undersad, because I can post some real poop at this time of night.
MR ... thank you.
"understand"
Don`t worry about it. We all have our moments. I`m going to meet my third cousin in Brighton on Saturday and we`ll just come around to your house and give you a good talking to :-)
Okay.

I think we're going to be great pals.

If my "house" was just a flat ... would you be disappointed?

How many people actually know who is their "third cousin" ?!!

Go to a pub called The Mesmerist for lunch ... seriously ... it's really jolly.
Is that the one on Prince Albert Street, JJ...?
Thanks for the recommendation. I don`t know Brighton very well. Aforementioned cousin lives in Crawley (someone has to) and we are due to meet up so as I thought the weather is good we would go to the coast. I heard there is a nice restaurant called Donatellos. Have you heard of it? I think it will be a case of just mooching around and seeing where we end up
Crikey, MR ... you're good !

Yes, it is. It's on the corner, behind the Thistle Hotel.

It's a bit odd, because you can walk past it without actually realising that it's a pub.

But it's really good inside, and they have great live music in there.

Have you been there, MR?
> Have you been there, MR?

Yes, though not for ages... Do they still do jazz bands...?
Well, funnily enough, on another thread some time recently, I mentioned Donatellos, because I was in there with a group of friends.

It's pretty good for pizzery, pastery things, and it's in a great spot.

Near to there, the best pubs are The Mesmerist (see above), The Victory, and The Sussex.

Just up the road from The Victory is a choccy place called ChoccyWoccyDooDaah which has been on the telly recently. You should take a look.

Also, just around the corner, is The Seagulls Supporters Shop. They've got all the "League One Champions 2011" kit in now. Just thought I'd mention that.

I haven't been down to Brighton for maybe 10 years. Wouldn't be interested in anything pizzery, but a proper Italian restaurant would be fine...
MR ...

Yes, they do.

If you go in through the "long" entrance (opposite and facing the main bar) they quite often have musicians in the corner to the left of the bar. It's great. You hardly notice them when you go in, because they're tucked away. And then you get the music, and it's really nice.
Thanks for the info. I`ll see where we end up x
Mark ...

I am absolutely NOT going to say it on here ...

I will NOT say that the place is being taken over by pizza/pasta chains.

I will NOT admit that on here.

I WON'T !!
Yeah, it's the way of things, JJ...
Yes, sadly, MR.

There's even a "Harry Ramsden's" fish and chip shop.

I mean ... for goodness sake !
I'm not suggesting that Harry Ramsden's is bad.

But it's a sort of ... "Yorkshire fish and chips" sort of thing.

It's right on the sea front ... in Sussex.

I mean ... being invaded in 1066 was bad enough !!!
I know what you mean!

"We went out for dinner last night."

"Where did you go?"

"We went to an Italian restaurant."

"What did you have?"

"Pizza".
I'm not averse to a pizza ...

As long as you know you are going for "pizza" ... not "Italian"

Actually, I quite like Pizza Express, cos they now do the "thin and crispy" option.
I really don't care for it at all, JJ - it's slop on bread, as far as I'm concerned...
