Just watched Sky News and it was showing the demo in London, the camera panned in on this very pretty young girl who looked about 18, she was smashing the windows of a bank, she then turned spent of energy and was grinning from ear to ear at what she had done...can anyone explain to me WHY?

bobbi - do agree with you so much. what really did these people have to demonstrate about? are they being treated so very badly. they may face job cuts but at least most of them still have jobs and if they do not have a job they will get some form of unemployment and child care pay - which is much more than they would get in similar circumstances in egypt, lybia etc., and although it is probably not important to them they are able to worship as they wish unlike in many other countries.
Trying to compare what happened in Cairo or what is happening in Libya at the moment is a total no brainer.

Those on the African continent are fighting for freedom from a repressive regime that has left them living in poverty for years, enduring a hand to mouth existence.

The idiots in London are just that, IDIOTS. Most are wasters with too much time on their hands due to the fact they dont need to work as the government pays for all their wants and needs..

yes LJ but why the vicious attacks on these building, most of these anarchist appeared to be young, just what makes them so violent?
i just have no idea. it appears to eb so mindless. i really mean without using their minds. don't know about you but at that age i was just too busy trying to get further with my education and meeting up with friends to have some fun.
Oh - thats OK then Lady-Janine - they'll still be better off than those in Lybia(etc) - I am greatly reassured!
Question Author
thing is, this type of thing is so easy to organise now through places like Facebook
ixion - i was just trying to explain that some of the marchers yesterday had a lot less reason to march than other nations and trying to understand what makes them think it is good and right ot behave in the way they did.
and i am so glad you are reassured by my answer. would not like you to be confused - you might feel the need to demonstrate.
ixion,Read "The House Husbands" Post,He puts it perfectly.!!
Question Author
ixion, a question
Did you agree with the mindless mob and what they did?
I felt really angry and sad that these so-called Anarchists should be allowed to amass and cause so much damage. Why can't they employ watercannon etc to disperse these troublemakers before it starts. And as for Milliband he is irresponsible and so ignorant, considering that the tax cuts etc are all down to the Labour Party, shouting that he wanted to be there with them etc. what a dreadful example of a shadow PM he is! Not to mention Ed noBalls and his wife. I was sickened by it all.
Ixion..these people don't have any legitamate aspirations. They want everything for nothing at someone else's expense. They are a drain on society and contribute nothing.
Question Author
perfectly put gran
legitimate^
Drugged up or dragged up ?
Question Author
I am still not sure if ixion was in favour of the anarchy that happened yesterday?
I don't agree that there was a mindless mob - half a million(them?)demonstrated peacefully and received little press coverage - a small well organised(certainly not mindless)group targeted specific premises such as Topshop (owned by a self-confessed tax dodger) and banks - they got much more coverage - I do not condone violence against the police but will not shed any tears over a bit of vandalism to Topshop - and yes I do agree with and support the right of people to protest.
Question Author
one who was bleating
"I didn't do anything" was a real toff, owdhammer
Question Author
bit of a double edged sword here ixion

I do not condone violence against the police but will not shed any tears over a bit of vandalism to Topshop - and yes I do agree with and support the right of people to protest.

I think we all support the right to protest this why we live in a democracy unlike the Libyas and the Cairos, however throwing paint and causing millions of pounds worth of damage just doesn't cut it for me
