Then they would have to swear their allegiance to this country, they break that and they face charges of treason, they could receive a wage and pay taxes instead of relying on the over stretched benefit system here.
Only then, would they be granted British citizenship

Many have said it before. Would you want someone fighting for your country who wasn't truly loyal.
Question Author
therefore ummm, we don't want them here..simples !
Question Author
it sounds cut and dry when I said that, but if they don't have loyalty to the country that has taken them, where should they be?
But how would you know they wasn't truly loyal?
Question Author
only after any activity showing otherwise ummm, then they would face treason charges just as any British soldier would
Is the national service only for unemployed immigrants? How long would they be allowed to be unemployed before they were forced to join? What about the folk who are not fit enough to join? Why not include folk on benefits who are born in this country?
what about people born here? If they don't love their country enough to fight for it, why should immigrants?
Question Author
a) you would have to pass a fitness test like any other recruit
b) there are genuine benefit claimants in this country, so no I would not include them
and people who are born here are British anyway, if immigrants truly want to integrate into our society, why wouldn't they want to defend the host country?
The question asked about ALL people taking up residence having to the service. British citizens are subject to the Treason Acts anyway so what is the point? What if the immigrants do not want to become British citizens? Why do you expect immigrants to do more for this country and be prepared to die for us when those born here are not under the same obligation?
Question Author
save money perhaps...in benefits?
if they don't want to become British can I ask why they are here then please ?
If you want to save money on benefits, why not have all the unemployed put in HMF? There are many immigrants here for many reasons, they have the right of residence but may not want to take British Citizenship. What about the EU nationals who have the right to live here and claim benefits but who do not want to become British.

I ask again, why do you expect those who ask to be British, to die for this country when millions of those born in this country will not do the same?
Natives aren't obliged to serve in the military, and in peacetime, quite right too. So why should immigrants ?

If an immigrant hasn't got a job here, or isn't independently wealthy, or have family that can support them, they ought not be granted access, a fair share of genuine asylum cases aside. Then your concerns regarding the benefit system is eased.

We don't need anyone in the foces that doesn't want to be there.
Question Author
my theory is based on people claiming benefits and not putting into the system, I accept there are lots of home grown ones doing the same TCL, make them do something too?
You mention European Union Nationals, where do you think half of the benefits claimed by them go?
back home to support their families..... even family allowance
I was really thinking of a way that our economy could gain something by getting something back
When I informed the FA people that my daughter was no longer in the country but still in full time education....it stopped. How can other people claim?
Whaddya doing back here in 'News', Bobbi............?
You know it usually ends in tears.............

"An overstretched benefit system" would only be swapped for "an overstretched MOD budget" and will divert resources from where they are most necessary.

it's a bit of a pain doc, where you can't debate these things without this happening, I am expecting to be called a racist soon,,,for merely raising a subject like this..lol
I'm not sure any serving soldiers, etc. would necessarily want anyone wearing the same uniform who was only doing so as a way of securing money to live...........
Question Author
perhaps your'e right jack, but just entering the country and getting handouts isn't ethical either ?
