My First Ever Failure - Wordle

It's finally happened:-( I have had a few successes on the 2nd guess, a good few on the 3rd, quite a few on the 4th and 5th, and one or two last ditch successes on the 6th. However, until this morning, i have never completely bombed out. And that was after securing all bar the first letter in it's correct place on the 2nd guess. Yes, people, it is one of 'those' words that can begin with many of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Good luck in choosing the right one before you run out of guesses. Like me :-((
As an aside, i did read that there were lots of folk bewildered by the fact yesterday's Wordle contained no vowels. Really? Just how many 5-letter vowel-less words are there in the English language?

I was extremely lucky with today's, since I got it on the third try at my first guess for what the first letter might be.

I got the final four letters after four attempts and got it right on the next go.

It is annoying when you think it "must" be a certain word but it isn’t and when it has many solutions, it's just luck.

I had an interesting one last week, the newspaper was beside me so looked for a five letter word to enter. All letters were wrong so took the next word in the same sentence, surprised to see all boxes turning green..

Same as Jim just a few minutes ago. My usual scores are 3/4, with a few 2s, 5 and 6. And one complete failure.

I got it on the 6th go. Like you all had all the letters in the right order except for one on the second turn.

I almost always start with the same two words except the very few times I can go with just the one. Today my two words yielded 3 letters, all in the wrong place. My third go had just the first letter wrong and I too had the choice to make of all the possibilities. I got it, by luck, on the next (4th) attempt. I hate these sort of words as we all hate to fail through no mistakes on our part and bring a long 100% run to a close. It's not quite happened to me yet (I ended up with a 6).

Once I realised there were no vowels in that word it was simple.

I start with a different word each time. It's more of a challenge that way.

I like Octordle. That really is a challenge.

Yesterday figured y would be there as used all other vowels in first 2 tries. Got it in 4. Today, drum roll please, 2 word was correct. Not sure how I managed that!

TCL, ditto with 'adieu' and, if that doesn't throw up the required success, i usually follow with 'storm' or 'front', which i used on my 2nd guess yesterday, with the only success being the letter 'n'. So with no vowels and an 'n' somewhere, the answer was obvious. To me at least.
I do intend to try 'Octordle' sometime today.

I got it on 4th. Normally start with ADIEU, then STORY. Today started with ALIVE, then ROUND. Todays result want pure good guesswork more than anything.

Yesterdays with no vowels was easy, especially as I had an m and n in my first word. I always start with a word with three vowels.

I start with 'guide' and follow with 'tonal' if necessary

I got today's wordle in 3 having used a couple of possible first letters in my first word. When faced with 4 correct letters and a few possibilities for the starting letter - try making a word with the possible options and then what goes green or yellow will be the one you want.

actually that's good advice by foxlee - today's 1st letter could have been r,s,m,f,b,h,p,w so instead of your 3-6 guesses being one of those letters plus the last 4 XXXX, you could have put some words in made up mainly of the letters rsmfbhpw (if you can think of any) like spree

Aha, I helped my daughter get yesterdays. We taught that the letter used is the 6th vowel. Won't say it in case I spoil for anyone.
