I would think it varies. I'd phone to check.
I stayed in a Premier Inn over the weekend and there were signs asking for masks to be worn in public areas. I did wear one for check in and going to the counter for a query, but just going in and out I didn't. Mainly because I kept forgetting.

They seemed pretty relaxed about it, I did't hear them challenge anyone. This was Durham City Centre where I've always found the staff to be very friendly. Other hotels may have a different idea.

Great value for money at the moment though. £80 for Saturday & Sunday night.

Try looking up the specific hotel online. They give an individual number for the hotel. I spoke to the one at Gatwick North just last week.

thanks all - i just took what they said at their website at face value (ie none of their lines are to be used) i didnt think about calling the actual hotel.
I have prepaid breakfast, but it see they are participating in eat out to help out - perhpas i'll get a skight refund too
