On the Mathew Wright Show this morning one of the topics were
"Can you make a gay person straight"
apparently some stupid councillor come Doctor reckons you can, I have never heard such a load of b0LLIX !
I t comes in the wake of the EE storyline where Syeds mentor is trying to do just this.
I don't think anyone has the right to say this or to interfere with what a person is happy being, and comfortable with their sexuality.

Don't get me started.................!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't believe you can. I think the only possibility would be with Bi sexuals....but that would be just getting them to chose the opposite sex and abstain from same sex.
Sadly there are still people who believe it is a curable condition, and a number of gay people find they can't deal with their sexualty for whatever reason and would be desperate not to live that way, I don't think it is a first choice for many so I understand the appeal of someone claiming to be able to 'help' just think they are all at best misguided or at worse evil and cruel.
Michael Barrymore is having a "Coming in" party to celebrate not being gay anymore!

Barrymore is just a prat. He probably thinks he would be accepted back lovingly into the public domain if he 'comes in' again.... pathetic!

Can you turn a gay person straight. Course you can't - not 'inside'. You are what you are, unless you're not really sure in the first place... ;-)
Yeah ELVIS....that will last...
Michael Barrymore has been in and out of the closet that often the hinges are worn out,
Has he got a book to publicise at the moment? or a new tv prog
"I don't think anyone has the right to say this or to interfere with what a person is happy being, and comfortable with their sexuality."

Does that include everyone ? Those into bestiality, paedophiles, necrophiliacs, etc. ?
We will see on come dine with me tonight. Although I might be able to watch it because the footballs on.

Would it be wrong to get him drunk on a Monday so he falls asleep?

barrymore will be doing this for maximum publicity and thats all
Old Geezer....With the presumption of legal activities...
I didnt watch it, what method do they use as In the 60s they used electric shock treatment. I dont think you can change a persons sexuality.
Unfortunately if someone says anything these days, someone will believe it. Take the proliferation of conspiracy theories some of them with the slightest examination can be seen to be totally unfeasible however still they go on, no moon landing, crop circles etc.

Due to the internet any old crap can be put up and sustained with no real evidence. In the case of sexuality I don’t think you can change a true gay person, and as it has nothing to do with me, why would you try? But a number of people are unsure about their sexuality and take one road when they later realise they really wanted to take the other road, then when they change then people think they can be “converted”, when in fact they were never one thing or another in the first place.

I really don’t understand why you would want to attempt to change a person’s sexual choice after all it has nothing to with you. If they did change they would only be unhappy.

After all if you out with people the only question that needs to answered isn’t who do you sleep with but do you stand your round.
not everyone is happy with their sexuality, though, jack (and I don't just mean it's gays who aren't). My guess is you can't change... but then I look at Tom Robinson...

OG, God forbid!
of cause I don't mean the aforementioned, gay people are not the scourge of our society, paedophiles are!
Glad to be gay? Is he no longer gay?
I know quite a few people who have been 'straightened out (in ?!?)'.
Most of them have reverted to type (if you like) and have found their natural happier selves.
Those who remain 'heterosexual' are, to a man/woman, fundamentally unhappy; and yet try to take comfort in the fact that they are now somehow more acceptable to their family or priest.........
I am sad beyond words for them AND for anyone they become attached to.........it's a recipe for disaster.
Yes. <punches air> point to me :-D
My cousin left Northampton and moved to London so he could be gay without fear of his father finding out. He went through quite a few heterosexual relationships before he admitted it to himself.

The sad thing is....and I told him over and over again, his Dad would have accepted it.
