I went into my local Poundland today and bought two items. To my surprise the bill came to two pounds.
Has the reduction in VAT passed them by or would the re-naming of their stores Ninetyeightpeeland look rather inelegant?

There's a pound shop near me. The sign says:

"Pound Shop. All items 1 or more."
not everything has a vat rateing.
TJ Huges has not reduced all its prices. I was in one of its stores the other day and there was a notice up saying it was not reducing prices but was using the savings to have better discounts on products or something along those lines.
Dave ... I raised this question when the VAT rate first changed ..... got lots of responses .... and also found this link ....
