yes... thats what I got. We also strangely have an address of 7 ringwood crescent bristol. ( this does exsist).. Old story ..item bought on ebay cheques cashed no goods arrived. Any suggestions. complaint at ebay has been started.

You must have sent the cheque to a valid address for the recipient to have received it.

W1 is the post code in the heart of Central London where all the offices are.

Only the very rich live in this area. I am working in W1 and have never heard of this address!!!!

Ebay no longer provide any protection for a buyer unless the payment was made with Paypal.

You are left to pursue the seller yourself. If you can find them then there is this

If you complain to the police they may not be interested in investigating, and even if they are their priority is to get a conviction not to get you your money back.

Thanks for all that.. It is my brother who purchased a bike. Yes the CQ was cashed. For everyones information the ebay seller is.....dippydegg....so beware if he/she is a frauster. We will keep on the case...but if anyone has any further help...please feel free to pass it on. C x

.If you track them down and the Police can't get your money back if it's under �5,000 you can take them to the small claims court

I only ever pay by paypal when I buy from ebay so that I have purchase protection. I'm sorry this is no good to you now, but you could remember this for future purchases. Hope you get this sorted out.

That is the same name bike ... its seems he may have auctiined this twice ...possibly now. Brother says he bought his on the 5th april.
Cq was posted in the 7th april ...guessing it was prob cashed 5-7 days later. (12th ish)... Why ???
