Gummy Label

I received as a wee present a purse and when it opened up it was a little bag - however there is a label which is heavily gummed to the bag and it is about me, my name etc. I would like to remove it but as I tried a little bit - think it was ripping. It is material like not paper. thanks

warm water and washing up liquid -soak the label making sure it does not dry out and it should ease off after about 10 minutes.
