on this weeks orange playlist on itv with lauren laverne and guest patsy kensit, there were playing an old simple minds track that has being sampled in the last couple years and used on club tracks, anyone know what the title is and what album it was on.

The most sampled Simple Minds track is called 'Theme from Great Cities' on an album called 'Sister Feeling Call' which came out in 1981.                                        I didn't see the programme you watched, but this is the most likely, it was most famously used on a track called 'the real life'  by Corporation of One which was a massive late 80's house anthem. Try it as it could be the track your looking for.

It was also used more recently again on a track called The Real Life by Raven Maize so it seems likely that Theme for Great Cities is what you're looking for. If you get The Best of Simple Minds you'll get both tracks plus another load of great tunes to boot.
actually the track you are talking about may be open your mind by USURA which sampled NEw gold dream by Simple minds 

and i heard another new track with a simple minds sample. "Someone somewhere in summertime"
