Do you/would you wear a band's t shirt to one of their own gigs?

It seems in certain circles (a discussion I'm following on another forum) that doing this is a major faux pas...

really? when i went to see slipknot last year i wore their tour t shirt from their previous tour. didnt seem a problem.
also worn my rammstein top to their gigs...
painted my face for Kiss. i dont think its a problem...
I don't tend to go for the tee-shirt look except on holiday - at almost fifty-six, it looks somewhat undignified on me.

That said - I can't see why on earth a logo tee-shirt would be a faux pas at any gig - either of the band playing or not.

How very strange.

I reckon that wearing a girls aloud, or shampoo tee shirt to a AC-DC concert might be considered a major faux!
...pas.

Personally I think 'each to their own'. For some reason the opinion that 'it just aint cool' was quite prevalent. I was curious as to what others on a non 'music specific' forum thought...

Chuck... how much do you want for that Girl's aloud t?
ah yes we broke the record for the most people with kiss face paint at download festival Pinkilady, get in!

for some bands i think it would be weord, like what chuck said.
but every gig i go to there are ALWAYS people wearing the band logo
I would have thought you'd be more interested in the shampoo one!

I already have that one...
Do you/would you wear a band's t shirt to one of their own gigs? - Yes I would, providing it's a complimentary one. :-)

It seems in certain circles (a discussion I'm following on another forum) that doing this is a major faux pas... - Those circles are a bunch of vain people. Why would it be a faux pas? Makes no sense to me at all.

Although I don't usually wear a tee - I did see a guy at a gig once with a Whigfield tee-shirt on ,which I coveted immediately! If I can find one, I will wear it to all the death metal gigs i attend as a writer - i already stick out like a Rabbi at a Christening, so it'll just add to that effect.

Can't remember exactly pinklady - I think it might have been Nine Inch Nails - it was certainly a seriously rocky outfit - I was so jealous!

Me too! I bow to no-one in my adoration of Euro-pop - and 'Saturday Night' as one of the finest pop records ever made, so if i can fly the flag at the next Cradle of Filth turn-out, I shall do so!
