Please, please anyone - help me with this obscure question. Thank you cdwrover123
Perhaps it is the record sales north and south of the border?

The same singles are released, but a lot of people may like it in England, but the people of Scotland may like a different tune best,so that would be their number one?

I cant say I realised there were 2 seperate charts.
What you need to realise is that although tastes in music may have progressed somewhat over the years in England, across the Tweed Kenneth McKellar, Andy Stuart and Moira Anderson remain firm favourites. Hoots mon!
why - over the past few days - does cdwrover 123 make a post then a few minutes later lilscret posts on the same thread "please, please anyone help me with this question" - have a look back, it's a pattern, anyone else noticed?
I was going to comment Boxy, but then decide to let things 'ride' . It's quite obvious.... lol
Strange I never thought of that. Is Ireland and Wales the same?
I've looked but I haven't noticed Boxy. Lilsecret is a SAB user though..
Wsh I hadn't posted my answer now. Thought it was funny at the time, having a go at the Sweaties in order to take the pressure off the Froggies, who have come in for some stick today.
> Andy Stuart

Is he any relation to Andy Stewart?
Twins, I believe.
maybe she just admires him and fancies him in his pic , they look identical match made :-P
> Thought it was funny at the time

Are you AP in disguise...?
It's "why do" anyway, not "why does".
The same company produces a UK chart
http://www.theofficia...ts.com/singles-chart/
and a Scottish chart:
http://www.theofficia...ottish-singles-chart/

It's just the same as the way that newspapers write their headlines. If you see "Capital Brought to a Halt by Protesters" outside a newsagent's shop in Swindon it refers to problems in London. If you see exactly the same headline outside a newsagent's shop in Arbroath it refers to problems in Edinburgh. A reference to "this week's Number 1" on a local radio station in Ipswich automatically refers to the UK chart. The same phrase used by a local radio station in Fort William will (almost certainly) refer to the Scottish chart.

For Askyour gran:
If you click on the link for 'Regional charts', from either of my links above, you'll see that the company which compiles the 'official' UK charts only produces separate charts for Scotland (and not for Wales or Northern Ireland).

Of course, the Republic of Ireland has its own chart, compiled by a different organisation:
