Years ago I found a book - You could look up a piece of music by humming it, and writing down the code: * represented the first note. Subsequent notes were either * (repeated) U (up from the previous note) or D (Down from the previous note) giving something like ***DU**D would be Beethovens fifth. Then you just looked up the code 'alphabetically' to find the name. Does anyone known the name of this book...
