How do I stop iTunes splitting a CD according to artist?

I'm trying to add a CD to my iTunes folder.It's a 'Various Artists' type Cd & iTunes, instead of adding it as 1 CD, adds it as multiple CD's according to artist. I just want it as 1 CD, i.e. the 1 I'm trying to import. Is it possible to add it by CD, not by artist?
