Did Gloria Estefan ever record 'Rhythm of the night' in the late 80's? I seem to remember that song and someone sounding remarkably like her singing it. Does anyone know if it was her, and if not, then who was it? It would help to resolve a dispute I'm having with my mate. Thanks guys.

It was an artist called El De Barge.

Sorry sorry sorry - having a total blonde moment - not the same song! but it may be "the rhythm is gonna get you" that you're thinking of.

Nah, was certainly rhythm of the night, my mate said it was De Barge and she was right!  Cheers guys :o)
In the British Hit Singles book, the three artists listed as recording Rhythm of the Night are Powerhouse in 1997,  Corona in 1994 and DeBarge in 1985. (This was a great recording). Whether they are all the same song or not, I don't know. No mention of Gloria Estefan having recorded it.
Corona and DeBarge are definitely two different songs. Not sure about Powerhouse.

All three were different songs.

Rhythm is going to get you was record and released by gloria estafan in 1988. the name of the album that it is also on is "Gloria".
