I know that Led Zeppelin were famous for 'borrowing' established blues licks and 'abosrbing' them into their own songs, but did they clue Tom Johnson up about taking his riff (and quite a lot more!) from

Long Train Runnin'

and sticking it in

Trampled Underfoot

They stole Stairway to Heaven from American band Spirit, listen to Taurus and you'll see how similar they are.

even though I like Led Zep , they have a history of stealing other peoples songs
Yeah right - Taurus is an instrumental that contains a 4-5 chord progression that is indeed similar to the intro to Stairway. However to say it is stolen from the song is obviously erroneous, If anything was taken it was the progression which added to.

You have a beter case with trampled only in the fact you could say both are stolen from classic blues riffs indeed the song was inspired by Robert Johnson. Trampled underfoot was written in 1972 and Long Train Runnin' came out in 1973 though I am unsure of when it was written
Slight similarity but compared with teh Doobie Bros' original version I think the Doobies adapted it (unconsciously) slightly in this live version to sound more like Trampled Underfoot
