Just done some for myself.

There's something very comforting about marmite on toast.

I get it in big 600g tubs from Costco ... not those dopey little jars where you can't get your knife under the shoulders, and you just KNOW that there's a bit of marmite under there that you can't get at.

Get your fingernail right in there JJ - that's what I do, though not with marmite.
Marmite and cheese on toast. Yum.

salla ... I can't think of anyone else who'd be daft enough to sell their product in jars with inaccessible shoulders.

China ... I don't like marmite with anything else.
Yuk.....

I've just made a roast chicken and rocket salad...but that's all that's in the salad....
Marmite melts when it gets warm, if you heated the jar the contents from under the 'shoulders' would run to the bottom.

Source - My step dad lives on the stuff, he knows every trick in the book.
I'm jjust trying to think.... there are some. Picalilli?

So your "rocket salad" is actually just a bowl of rocket ?
lol just a bowl of rocket, sounds so interesting!

Diz ... in what parallel universe could I be bothered to stand and heat up a marmite jar?
Oh yes, Marmite on toast with cheese and pepper is scrumptious!
It's one of my comfort foods.
You don't stand, you put a little boiling water in the washing up bown and just stand the jar in, simples..
Lovely stuff. Real comfort food.

I have just eaten two slices of homemade wholemeal bread covered in fried tomatoes, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Does that make you feel sick Jayne?

Peri will be along in a minute no doubt to mock me!! :o)
I don't know if it makes her sick but it's making me want to spew.
And chicken Dizmo....and a squirt of salad cream. I think I need to go shopping....
it's still no substitute for Bacon egg sausage tomato's mushrooms and black pudding with a fried slice.
Question Author
Diz ... happily, I don't buy the jars with shoulders.

I get catering tubs, which are just like small plastic buckets with lids.
Oh dear Dismo! I actually often just take a swig of balsamic vinegar from the bottle and love olive oil on bread!! Has to be really good stuff though!!
