Another long shot. Probably in a previous answer somewhere but l don't know too many details. I'd look on you tube if l knew what criteria to put in!
It's an instrumental piece (orchestral), probably made within the last year and by someone l should know!
It's been used a few times in programs like the X Factor and the "snippet" is normally played when someone has to make a decision and we are waiting for them to answer. It has a steady beat which gets louder and is interposed by two short notes (a rise and a fall) by what sounds like a badly played violin.

It's not Requiem For A Dream by Clint Mansell, possibly?

Thanks Philtaz, no it's not that one (although it's good!)
It's sort of that genre, but it's the two violin notes that l mention in the last paragraph that really stand out above everything else.
Sorry for being vague, and thanks for trying.

By the way, l know it was used in BBC2's Open Gardens recently (Doyle Gardens and Ewehurst House). It was when the guy who owns Doyle Gardens was waiting to hear if he had been accepted.

Unfortunately, cannot get iplayer in France
That's a shame willyboy, I'm also currently in France and it won't play for me either! It'll be gone by the time I get back to UK!
Will keep trying elsewhere for you though.
Question Author
Very kind of you Philtaz (blimmin' iplayer!)
Regards
it could be Rise by Craig Armstrong i know they use ttha on x factor a lot
Question Author
No it's not rise (thanks westender).
I think l've now checked most of Craig Armstrongs releases. Some of the tracks are in a similar genre, but none are what l'm thinking of.
It's definitely in that bbc link though , and l'll probably kick myself when l eventually find out what it is, and no doubt so will you all!

Just to keep you posted, someone has found it for me,
It's Clubbed To Death by Rob Dougan.
I can sleep easy now!
Thanks for your help
Regards
Glad you got your answer willyboy. His album Furious Angels is worth getting, it's an absolute belter.
