Lonely/Lovely Girl and Beautiful Woman

Try "Homely Girl" by The Chi-Lites. (It sounds like they say lonely instead of homely, and beautiful woman is definately in it.)

Are they the exact lyrics or half remembered?

It may be 'Homely Girl' by the Chi-Lites ,later covered by UB40

The chorus goes:

'Homely girl, you used to be so lonely

you're a beautiful woman

oh homely girl'
