vedio file not playing?

i hav files which r downloaded frm net. Those two files r one ".wmv" and ".avi" format. i tried to play these two files but no player did it. MPC showing cannot render, windows showing upgrade and requesting for rights. Please help n suggest a player to it or suggest a software to repair those files.
