Hi snoopy:

I think you'll find that the soundtrack has not been taken from an opera and most of the music was composed by a guy called Gabriel Yared.
Other contributors include U2, Alanis Morisette, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, and others.
