Some celebs deaths mean little and others seem to make you feel a personal loss. It depends not just on whether you are a strong fan, but also that they may be a similar age and you have followed their lives thru their work.

I will feel sad too dot when his time comes.
everyone has family no knowledge, and surely its sad when anyone is so ill famous or not
It would be awful.

yes I do understand what u mean.

but at times like that surely its better to say nothing and keep your thoughts to yourself.
it's sad when anyone dies early, but I'd be more upset if it was someone I knew.. even a "friend" on here that I'd never met.

It`s very sad for Patrick and his family. I`ve never really been a fan, but the potters wheel scene from Ghost always sticks in my mind.
Must agree though, it won`t really affect me much, I`ve had members of my family die really young, my niece died of cancer when she was twenty nine, so I won`t be losing any sleep over a stranger
My sentiments entirely, I don`t think his family would give a toss if they heard that I was on my way out.
Say ahh shame when I read it in the paper and then move on
The feelings we have after someone dies differ enormously, depending on the person lost. There have been fans who are inconsolable at a star's death. But it's rare and is not, of course, a loss comparable to that of a family member.

We don't control these feelings. We can feel anything from a sigh of remembrance to devastating grief at a death. There is nothing wrong or strange in feeling sad at the loss of an admired and familiar actor/celeb who was in our life only via a screen.
