jimmy soul in the 60s. Kid creole did a version in about 1983 on the Lp "doppelganger" - this may be easier to find

almost forgot -title is "if you wanna be happy." I think it appeared also on the soundtrack to the film "my best friends wedding" !

Robert Mitchum also does a mean version on his calypso album.

Joe Dolce did a version too. But Jimmy Soul's is the original and definitive.

It was also a (small) hit in 1983 for Rocky Sharpe and the Replays.
