The original tune is called 'Os Grilos' by Marcus Valle from the album 'Samba '68' and is dedicated to his wife Anamaria (hence the alternative title): http://www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=1369180. Walter Wanderly also did a faster version on his LP 'Batacuda' & the Emma Bunton version just sounds like she's singing over the top of this! (couldn't find a sound sample) Both are worth checking out as they are much better without an ex Spice Girl spoiling them.
