... but hardly anyone seems to have heard of them!

So when I jump up and down with excitement and say I am talking to X or Y, no-one seems bothered, or understands.

So, as a sharing exercixe, I would like to advise the wider community that last night I talked to ....

Todd Rundgren,

and in a week or so, I will be talking to ....

Lindsey Buckingham.

If you are even vaguley impressed, please let me know!

Hi Tony,

Lindsey has a new solo album - his third i think - coming out shortly, so it's promotion.

Todd produced and played guitar and sang backing vocals on 'Bat Out Of Hell' - he is a musical genius, albeit largely unsing on this side of the water.

His long-time partner Bebe Bluell is mother to Liv Tyler. At the time of Liv's birth, they kept her parenthood under wraps because Steven Tyler was a serious drug abuser, so Todd raised her as his own daughter.

Todd is now married, has two sons who are baseball players, and continues to push the boundaires of tehcnology as far as they will go.
thanks for that info andy.

My pleasure.

Check out his 'Something Anything' album.
will do.
Aww bless ya Andy, I've heard of both of them and I can see why you'd be excited, just don't go all starry eyed on them!
Question Author
Thanks helliebobs - I was a bit star struck with Todd, I bought 'Something Anything' when I was eighteen, and it is one of my all-time favourite albums.

He was very gracious, and we are hopefully having dinner when he comes over in September for his UK dates.
Rundgren produced Bat Out of Hell, so when you see him, can you please smack him in the gob from me.
Dinosaurs more like !

Gromit - somehow I think your reuest is likely to remain unfulfilled - BOOH is one of my favourite albums as well!
Well I'm imressed andy, especially by LB. Mind you I'd be impressed if you'd met Sooty! ;o)
you haven't, have you...?

Did you ever meet Robert Palmer? I always felt he probably a nice guy. Sadly missed, he died far too young.
Question Author
Hi Robinia

No, I haven't met Sooty ... yet!

I never did meet RP, he did come over as a decent guy - great voice, sadly missed.
Right, I am very, very impressed Andy (crawl, crawl). (Really haven't heard of Todd Rudgren - but have now looked him up and as I type am listening on Youtube.)

Now can you please arrange for me to meet Bowie and Jagger before I reach my 7th decade!! xxx
Question Author
Leave it with me LoftieLottie - if I get to go, you get to come with me and hold my tape-machine, and no, that is not a euphemism, I really do still use a cassette recorder for my interviews.
You're on!!
I'm pretty impressed, more by LB as most, but WOW. Hope we've made up for all those ignorant people that don't understand why your'e so excited.

ohh and if you're meeting Bowie please count me in too!!!

me also.
Now look what you have done Andy - I'm meant to be cleaning the bathroom and I'm watching Bowie and Jagger 'Dancing in the Street'!!! (Much more pleasureable)
Hi Andy, I'm vaguely impressed. Can I ask which publication this relates to?
Question Author
Hi chelle7272, you have, thank you very much.

Just been home to collect my copy of the new Lindsey Buckingham album - out on September 15. It's watermarked and registered to me, so if I copy it, they can trace the copies back to me. Not sure what heppens then - I think they tie me to a chair and make me watch Westlife videos. I mean, the sound is creepily anodyne as it is, but that constant siting on stools, standing up, and sitting down again .... shudder!

Bowie list is now open - lucky dip if it gts too mig ...

ludwig - the interviews will be published in 'Guitarist' Magazine - probably September issue for Todd, not sure for Londsey.
