HI everyone
I know my mum had lots of trouble having my older sister she had all the fancy injections and stuff to help her conceive i'm not sure if she did the same to have me or not. but i was just wondering if the trouble in conceiving may be genetic so if i want to have a baby is it possible that i would find it hard to conceive?
thanks

Perhaps you need some thorough genetic counselling to give you a clear picture - a GP may not have the genetics background in depth to help you, but both GP and counsellor will need acess to lots of medical and family info to be able to advise you

If age is on your side and you haven't already been trying, I don't think you should worry too much. Don't get hung up on the ovulating mid cycle thing either. Prof Winston says you have to be at it like rabbits all the time because an egg only lives for 24 hrs and sperm for 48-72 hrs. If you aim for 1 or 2 days a month it might be happening on the other 30! I've just stopped taking the pill because I keep forgetting to take it and in the leaflet it says if you forget it in the last 7 days of the pack you shouldn't take a break before the next pack because an egg might have been released and that is only a few days before a period is due!
